What do your services cost?
Knowing the cost of the work before it is started gives peace of mind to our customers. That's why we use Up Front Pricing. Based on the average time it takes a professionally trained technician to complete the task, a price is calculated, ensuring a fair price to you. At Pipe Wrench Plumbing, we sell it, we install it and we back it up, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Why did my water service break?
Material failure is a common cause of water service leaks with plastic piping, especially if it was exposed to the elements prior to installation. Ultraviolet light breaks down the polymer and reduces its ability to expand and contract several times as designed. Also, as the ground freezes and thaws, the ground tends to shift adding extra stress or crushing the water pipe. This may be another cause of pipe failure. Plastic piping can be replaced without destroying your yard.

What about copper water services?
Most failures with copper water services result from the acids in the water or ground that deteriorates the metal. Copper piping can be replaced without destroying your yard.

My Gas Water Heater makes loud sounds, why?
The popping sound is caused by a mineral build up on the bottom of the water heater that traps water between the tank and the mineral. When the water is being heated it turns this trapped water into steam. The steam then escapes or explodes through the mineral causing the popping sound.

My Electric Water Heater makes loud sounds, why?
The popping sound is caused by a mineral build up on the elements of the water heater that traps water between the element rods and the minerals. When the water is being heated it turns this trapped water into steam. The steam then escapes or explodes through the mineral causing the popping sound.

Why shouldn't I have the home improvement store install my new fixture?
Many of the installers are not official employees of the home improvement store. It can be extremely difficult to get them back to your home should there be a problem. At Pipe Wrench Plumbing, we sell it, we install it and we back it up, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

What is a Pressure Reducing Valve?
A valve that reduces the pressure of incoming water. This valve uses the principle that low pressure over a large area will over come high pressure over a small area. Thus a PRV is installed to keep the pressure in your home at a regular level that is not harmful to the pipes in your home, usually about 50 psi.

My faucets drip. Why?
It could be loose washers, a defective cartridge, high pressure or a number of other things given the fact that there are hundreds of faucet manufacturers.

Should I use a liquid or crystal drain cleaner?
We don't recommend using either. They destroy not only the clog, but also the pipes and the environment. At Pipe Wrench Plumbing, we have tools specifically designed for drain cleaning. We now offer "Ultra Brite", a system designed to clean the inside of your pipes with high pressure water, offering years of trouble-free service, compared to the antiquated roto-rooting style machines.

Can roots really penetrate sewer lines?
Yes. This can be a common occurence that can cause significant damage to your plumbing system. Also, it's a little known fact that when you cut a root out of your sewer line, it naturally grows back and double in number. At Pipe Wrench Plumbing, we have technicians specifically trained to deal with these unique circumstances.
