Pipe Wrench Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Launches Community Fundraising Campaign With $10,000 Gift To East Tennessee Children’s Hospital

Group holding a large donation checkPipe Wrench Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, a leading provider of plumbing and HVAC services in the greater Knoxville, TN, area, has donated $10,000 to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital as part of its ongoing commitment to giving back to the community.

The initial donation kicks off Pipe Wrench’s fundraising campaign aimed at raising an additional $20,000 for the hospital.

Starting June 1, Pipe Wrench will donate $100 to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital for each new customer to sign up for Pipe Wrench’s annual maintenance membership. The Peace of Mind Program is a preventive maintenance plan that provides ongoing plumbing and HVAC services including discounts and a comprehensive inspection of your plumbing systems, water heaters, air conditioners, furnaces or heat pumps to ensure optimal performance and efficiency – often avoiding costly repairs later.

“Pipe Wrench was founded in this community and found success thanks to the belief and trust of our neighbors, so giving back is in our company DNA,” said Whitney Mitchell, co-owner of Pipe Wrench Home Services.

“As a locally owned business founded in Knoxville, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of our neighbors and the larger community. By partnering with East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, we’re able to support an essential medical institution while providing valuable services to our customers.”

The goal of the fundraising campaign is to raise $30,000. Funds will be directed toward areas of greatest need, such as East Tennessee Children’s Hospital’s Mental Health Initiative Fund. The fund offers faster, more accessible care for children and families, supports social work and mental healthcare education and expands mental health support for patients and staff across all specialties in the hospital.

“By participating in the Peace of Mind Program, homeowners not only protect their homes, but also directly support East Tennessee Children’s Hospital to help us save lives and care for our community’s children and families,” said Adam A. Cook, vice president for institutional advancement at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. “Mental health support services are especially needed, and this initial donation will expand our outreach, education, assessment tools, programs and access.”

Donations from the campaign also will support different pediatric services and programs at East Tennessee Children’s hospital, ranging from medical equipment, outpatient clinics, patient programs, parent and family services, facility and campus upkeep and more.

Pipe Wrench has donated more than $150,000 in the past five years to organizations and groups such as the Joy of Music School, Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, Habitat For Humanity, local middle school and high school sports teams and CAC Office on Aging through direct monetary donations, time and discounted or free plumbing and HVAC services.

Peace of Mind is priceless, especially when the safety of your home and comfort of your loved ones is involved. That’s why we developed the Peace of Mind maintenance plan and membership program to safeguard one of your most treasured assets, your home.
Preventative maintenance on your HVAC and plumbing systems is similar to regularly changing the oil in your vehicle and is the best way to prevent costly breakdowns and repairs. The systems in your home should consistently be evaluated, analyzed, and cleaned frequently to operate more efficiently.

About East Tennessee Children’s Hospital

East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is a 152-bed hospital certified by the state of Tennessee as one of four Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center in Tennessee and is accredited by the Joint Commission. Because children are special … they deserve the best possible health care given in a positive, family-centered atmosphere of friendliness, cooperation, and support – regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay. Their medical needs are closely related to their emotional and informational needs; therefore, the total child must be considered in treating any illness or injury. Their health care requires family involvement, special understanding, special equipment, and specially trained personnel who recognize that children are not miniature adults. Their health care can best be provided by a facility with a well-trained medical and hospital staff whose only interests and concerns are with the total health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents.
